India, Nepal Evaluate Implementation of Petroleum Connectivity Projects

India and Nepal reviewed the progress on various ongoing initiatives, including new petroleum infrastructure projects under the G2G MoU. The 5th Meeting of the India-Nepal Joint Working Group on Petroleum and Gas was held in New Delhi.

The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas said that they also discussed avenues to further enhance cooperation across the entire energy value chain. Joint Secretary (International Cooperation), Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Esha Srivastava and Joint Secretary, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Nepal, Shivaram Pokharel, co-chaired the meeting.

Indian PSUs have been consistently meeting the petroleum requirements of Nepal Oil Corporation since 1974. This underscores the depth, resilience, and continuity of the longstanding partnership between India and Nepal. The collaboration between the two nations in the hydrocarbons sector is a notable example of mutually beneficial cooperation and shared development.
