An IndiGo flight from Kochi to Delhi was diverted to Nagpur on Tuesday after authorities received a bomb threat that specifically mentioned the flight number. The threat, deemed credible due to the specific details provided, was taken seriously, and a meeting was immediately convened as per standard operating procedures. By the time the threat was received, the aircraft had already departed from Kochi.
The flight, identified as IndiGo 6E 2706 and scheduled to depart at 9:20 am, was safely landed in Nagpur, where police and fire brigade teams were immediately deployed. The flight touched down approximately twenty minutes before reports emerged, and as of now, no suspicious object has been found. Security personnel are conducting a thorough inspection of the aircraft, and an investigation is currently underway.A similar incident was reported on Monday when a Lufthansa flight scheduled to land at Hyderabad airport was also forced to make a U-turn and return to Frankfurt after receiving a bomb threat.
