Maharashtra Governor C. P. Radhakrishnan attends 49th Raising Day of Indian Coast Guard in Mumbai

Maharashtra Governor C. P. Radhakrishnan attended the 49th Raising Day of the Indian Coast Guard in Mumbai Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said that with over 151 ships, 78 aircraft, and 46 advanced Radar Stations, the Indian Coast Guard has become the fourth-largest Coast Guard globally. He said as part of its ambitious modernization plans, the force is set to grow to a fleet of 200 ships and 100 aircraft, further cementing its position as a pillar of maritime security.

The Governor complimented the Coast Guard for keeping a vast area of India’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) under 24×7 surveillance. He applauded the Indian Coast Guard for playing a crucial role during the relief and rescue operations following the devastating floods in Gujarat and Kerala.  The Governor witnessed a cultural and music programme organised on the occasion. Vice Admiral Sanjay J Singh, AVSM, NM, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command and other senior officers attended the event.
