Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) preliminary report on Air India-171 crash did not suggest any mechanical or maintenance issues with the aircraft or its engines, CEO of the airline, Campbell Wilson, said on Monday.
“The Preliminary Report found no mechanical or maintenance issues with the aircraft or engines, and that all mandatory maintenance tasks had been completed,” he said, reacting to the initial report, which was made public on July 12.The Air India CEO further said that there were no issues with the quality of fuel, adding that no “abnormality” was found with the take-off roll.
“The pilots had passed their mandatory pre-flight breathalyser and there were no observations pertaining to their medical status,” he said.
