German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul arrived in Bengaluru on Tuesday morning on a two-day official visit to India. His visit underlines the growing strategic importance of India-Germany relations. This is Wadephul’s first visit to India as Germany’s Foreign Minister.

Wadephul is starting his tour from Bengaluru, where he will visit the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) headquarters, reflecting Germany’s growing interest in space cooperation with India. He will then travel to New Delhi, where high-level meetings are scheduled on Wednesday. He will hold talks with External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar and Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal. The discussions are expected to cover various areas such as trade, security, green energy, digital transformation and global governance.
