An all-party Indian parliamentary delegation in Bahrain briefed the country’s Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa on Sunday about the challenge of cross-border terrorism facing India and New Delhi’s firm resolve to combat it.
The delegation, led by BJP MP Baijayant Jay Panda, is one of the seven multi-party delegations India has tasked to visit 33 global capitals to reach out to the international community on Pakistan’s designs and India’s response to terror.AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi, also a member of the delegation, while speaking to reporters on India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’ against Pakistan, said, “India targeted nine terror camps. Pakistan was taught a lesson on May 9 and May 10 at the airbase. We are saying that India does not want this, but the neighbouring country is trying to create instability in India.”
“It is trying to increase hatred between Hindus and Muslims in India. These terrorists come from there. So, a very good meeting was held. We are also telling them that Pakistan should be brought back on the grey list. Bahrain is going to be a member of the Security Council in 2026-27, so it was better from that point of view as well,” Owaisi said.Responding to a question on the meeting which took place at the Gudaibiya Palace in Manama, Owaisi said, “In today’s meeting, we presented India’s side. We told them that for many years, terrorists aided and trained by Pakistan have been carrying out terror attacks in India, and many people have lost their lives. We gave them all the data, be it Mumbai blast, train blast, suicide attack in front of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, Pulwama, Pathankot attack.”
“We also talked about (Pakistani Army Chief, Field Marshal General) Asim Munir’s speech on April 15, what he said about Kashmir. Pakistan’s involvement is also proved by the fact that after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the TRF organisation admitted it twice. Indian government, our cyber experts found that they had uploaded it on the Internet from close to the Pakistani military cantonment,” Owaisi said.
Also speaking to reporters, Bharatiya Janata Party MP Nishikant Dubey said, “Bahrain will definitely support us at two places – in OIC (Organisation of Islamic Countries) – where Bahrain is not with Pakistan and Turkey, and also at the FATF. We have these two expectations, and we believe Bahrain will support us.”
