Russia has officially terminated an agreement with Ukraine on ensuring navigation safety in the Azov Sea and the Kerch Strait, according to an official document published Monday on the country’s legal information portal.

The decision was formalized through an order signed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

“In accordance with Paragraph 1 of Article 37 of the Federal Law on International Treaties of the Russian Federation, the agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on measures to ensure the safety of navigation in the Azov Sea and the Kerch Strait, signed in Moscow on March 20, 2012, is hereby terminated,” the document reads.
