The Indian Embassy in Riyadh on Monday organized a grand cultural event on the occasion of ‘Hindi Diwas’ aimed at promoting the propagation of Hindi language in Saudi Arabia. Indian Ambassador Dr. Suhail Ejaz Khan delivered the inaugural address on the occasion. The event included speeches and songs in Hindi by Saudi citizens as well as captivating cultural performances by students of Indian schools, which beautifully showcased the vibrancy and diversity of the Hindi language.

In his address, Ambassador Dr. Suhail Ejaz Khan underlined the Indian government’s firm commitment to the development and promotion of the Hindi language. He said that Hindi, being an official language of India, is a powerful medium to connect people from different regions of the country. Today, interest in learning Hindi is constantly growing globally, and due to the popularity of Bollywood cinema in Saudi Arabia, there is a deep interest and respect for the Hindi language among its citizens.
Special presentations by Saudi citizens are the center of attraction
Special performances by Saudi nationals were a highlight of the event. Munira Abdullah Aljubair delivered an impressive speech on India-Saudi relations in Hindi. Ahmed Sultan Maimani performed a melodious Hindi song, and Abrar Melfi Al-Hulayyal shared insightful thoughts on the importance of learning Hindi. These performances not only reflected the participants’ proficiency in the Hindi language, but also their confident stage performances mesmerized the audience.

This was followed by captivating cultural performances by students of Indian schools and children of the Embassy family. These attractive and captivating performances enlivened the event and provided an unforgettable experience to the audience.

At the end of the programme, the Ambassador felicitated all the participants. They were given mementoes and certificates. Along with this, the winners of various competitions held earlier- such as essay writing, poetry recitation and beautiful writing- were also awarded. Participants of all age groups participated enthusiastically in these competitions.
