Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense (MND) has detected three Chinese naval vessels and seven official ships operating around the island in the morning. In social media post, the Ministry said the Republic of China (ROC) Armed Forces had closely monitored the maritime activities and deployed appropriate assets in response to the situation. The ministry also stated that no Chinese military aircraft were detected operating around Taiwan during the 24-hour monitoring period. Consequently, no flight path illustration was provided in the latest update.
Earlier on Monday, Taiwan’s defence ministry reported detecting five sorties of Chinese military aircraft, six naval vessels and nine official ships operating around the island until 6 AM local time. It said three of the five aircraft sorties crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait and entered Taiwan’s northern, central and southwestern Air Defence Identification Zone (ADIZ).
