Rankireddy and Shetty defeated Olympic silver medallists Liang Weikeng and Wang Chang of China in a thrilling round of 16 match. PV Sindhu secured a straight-game win over World No. 2 Wang Zhiyi of China. She will face Indonesia’s Putri Kusuma Wardani for a semifinal spot today. Earlier yesterday, Kapila and Crasto upset two-time World Championships medallists Tang Chun Man and Tse Ying Suet with a 21-11, 21-16 victory to reach the quarterfinals.
